Bo was born in Montague, Massachusetts to Caleb and Nancy Allen on August 15, 1957. His early life was marked by frequent moves, which helped shape his adaptable nature and affable personality. In middle school, his family settled in Birmingham, Michigan, and this is where he considered home.

Bo’s strong work ethic emerged early; at 13, he saved for a mower and started his own lawn care business. His dedication to hard work defined him throughout his life. He lived life with integrity and adhered to a very strong code of ethics. His moral compass was the Golden Rule of do unto others as you would have them do unto you. He thought if you worked hard and did right by people that good fortune and prosperity would follow.

Standing 6’ 7”, Bo was a commanding presence in a room. His energy was palpable. Everyone wanted to know him, and he wanted to know them. He simply loved people. He spent his life building long-lasting relationships and that translated into a successful real estate career. He took great pride in helping families find their homes, and he often said “I don’t sell houses. I help the kids pick their bedrooms.” He understood the emotional connection of home. He was always striving to better himself professionally and he loved mentoring new agents.

Bo was a gentle giant with a tender heart. He was empathetic and felt for the underdog. He had a soft spot for those who were down on their luck and needed another chance or needed a lift, and he did what he could to make their path easier. Bo was deeply committed to his community in Lake Worth Beach, serving as a city commissioner for six years and serving on numerous boards. He and his wife, Erin, opened the city’s first bed-and-breakfast, The Mango Inn, and founded the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival, now a key part of the town’s identity.

Bo loved to golf and treasured the friendships he made at Bear Lakes Country Club. North Carolina was his second home. He loved the beauty, peace and tranquility of the mountains. It was the one place he could unplug and truly relax.

Bo was a deeply devoted husband, dedicated father to his son Jon, and a doting Papa to his two grandchildren.

This is an excerpt from a letter Bo’s uncle wrote to him after his wife passed away: “We are all a part of nature, and like all living entities we are only here a short period of time. The challenge is to make this short time a significant and worthwhile contribution to humanity so that on your death you leave the world a better place.” Bo can rest easy knowing he accomplished that.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents, Caleb and Nancy Allen. He is survived by his wife Erin, son Jon Allen (Krystan), grandchildren Ivy and Lilah Allen, and brothers Doug and Jonathan Allen.
